I Guess the Better Man Won

Luis Morgado leans back and gives Joe that half-smirk he always does when the truth hits harder than a joke.

Luis:
โ€œBroโ€ฆ Mileyโ€™s engagement ring? Really? Thatโ€™s the universe telling us to log off, close the fan page, and go raise chickens or something.โ€

Joe just shrugs, eyes drifting somewhere philosophical.

Joe:
โ€œLuisโ€ฆ women are like birds. Theyโ€™re attracted to shiny objects. Diamonds, gold, status, fame โ€” whatever sparkles. The better man won. Sometimes thatโ€™s all it is.โ€

Luis laughs, but thereโ€™s a sting in it.

Luis:
โ€œMan, I spent years running that fan page like it was the Library of Congress. For what? For her to say yes to some guy with a shinier rock?โ€

Joe pats him on the back.

Joe:
โ€œRetire it with dignity. Give it a Viking funeral. Let the algorithm carry it to Valhalla. We did our part.โ€

Luis sighs dramatically.

Luis:
โ€œFine. The better man won. Story of our lives.โ€

And just like that, they both nod โ€” not in defeat, but in that way men do when they know fate has spoken and the only noble thing left is to walk away with style.

Discordian Wrecking Ball

Falcon, the renegade theorist of pop-chaos, steps onto his soapbox under a neon streetlamp. His cloak is patch-worked with memes, sigils, and grayscale screenshots of his favorite music videos.

He raises a finger like a professor about to lecture the cosmos:

โ€œBehold the genius of Miley Cyrusโ€™ Wrecking Ball!โ€ he declares.

โ€œTo the uninitiated, itโ€™s just a breakup anthem. But to the Discordian mind? Itโ€™s a ritual object. A sphere of pure Eris-energy, swinging through the false architecture of consensus reality!โ€

Nelly Furtado laughs, nudging Joe Jukic, who already knows where Falcon is going with this.

Falcon continues:

โ€œYou see, Miley doesnโ€™t just ride a wrecking ballโ€”she defies physics with it. She suspends the laws of motion with the sheer force of emotional entropy. And that right there is the secret of Discordianism:
Eris laughs at Newton.

โ€œAnd my friendsโ€ฆโ€ He lowers his voice dramatically. โ€œThis is why the Bavarian Illuminati fear her.โ€

Joe raises an eyebrow. โ€œFear Miley?โ€

Falcon nods vigorously. โ€œOf course! Mileyโ€™s Eris-charged symbolism destabilizes their entire aesthetic. The Illuminati worship order. Geometry. Symmetry. Pyramids and straight lines. Miley is chaos incarnateโ€”she swings in circles and smashes everything they build!โ€

He flips open a beat-up notebook labeled Principia Mileyica.

โ€œIn Discordian lore,โ€ Falcon explains, โ€œthe Illuminati constructed the World Tower of Controlโ€”totally fictional, mind youโ€”an invisible skyscraper made of rules, lies, and boring meetings. And Miley smashed through it with one swing of pure emotional truth.โ€

Nelly grins. โ€œSo youโ€™re saying Wrecking Ball is basically a magical act?โ€

โ€œNot just magical,โ€ Falcon says. โ€œAnti-Illuminati artillery. Discordian warfare. Art as the hammer of Eris.โ€

Joe cracks up. โ€œAnd what about your ‘suspended physics’ theory?โ€

โ€œAh yes!โ€ Falcon shouts. โ€œThe wrecking ball hangs in a state of chaotic suspension. It obeys physics, yet also breaks them artistically. It exists in that liminal space where Discordianism thrivesโ€”the border between sense and nonsense, order and chaos, Newton and Nietzschโ€”โ€

He stops, raises a finger again:

โ€œThis is why Miley is our champion. Our chaos bard.
Our holy wrecking priestess.
Arch-enemy of the fictional Bavarian Illuminati.
โ€

Nelly applauds.
Joe bows toward the imaginary wreckage.

Falcon closes his notebook and whispers:

โ€œEris bless Miley Cyrusโ€ฆ
for she came in like a wrecking ball.โ€

I LOVE MILEY

TITLE: I Love Lucy โ€“ The Purdyโ€™s Chocolate Caper
Starring:

  • Miley Cyrus as Lucy
  • Luis Morgado as Ricky Ricardo
  • Nelly Furtado as Ethel Mermen
  • Joe Jukic as Fred Mertz

SETTING:
Purdyโ€™s Chocolate Factory, East Vancouver โ€” purple boxes, conveyor belts buzzing, workers in hairnets, the sweet smell of melted chocolate everywhere. A modern reboot with classic slapstick energy, filmed in warm technicolor tones to echo the 1950s but with modern Vancouver references.

COLD OPEN

INT. RICKY & LUCYโ€™S LIVING ROOM โ€“ MORNING

Ricky (Luis Morgado) is dressed in a vintage-inspired purple Purdyโ€™s uniform.
Lucy (Miley) lounges on the couch, eating a Purdyโ€™s Sweet Georgia Brown out of the box.

RICKY
Lucy, I need you to promiseโ€”promiseโ€”you wonโ€™t show up at the factory today. Weโ€™re behind schedule on the holiday rush.

LUCY
Ricky, honey, would I ever do something like that?

She smiles like a guilty cat.

RICKY
Sรญ. Every time.

Cut to Lucyโ€™s innocent grin.

ACT 1: THE PLAN

INT. PURDYโ€™S FACTORY โ€“ BREAK ROOM

Ricky gives a pep talk to the workers.
Ethel (Nelly Furtado), now the sassy union coordinator, sips coffee.
Fred (Joe Jukic), wearing suspenders and a Purdyโ€™s hairnet, reads the Vancouver Sun.

RICKY
Okay, team, Christmas season means no mistakes! No more missing chocolates, no more mystery dents in our Sweet Georgia Browns!

FRED
(glances at Ethel)
Yeah, last time someone dented โ€™em by sitting on a whole tray.

ETHEL
I told you, Fred, I was tired! Those boxes are comfortable.

Ricky shakes his head.

Thenโ€”
Lucy tiptoes in wearing oversized sunglasses and a purple trench coat.

ETHEL
Lucyโ€ฆ what in the name of Laura Secord are you doing here?

LUCY
Girlsโ€ฆ I got a job here.
(pauses dramatically)
Iโ€™m gonna surprise Ricky!

The audience laughs.

ACT 2: THE CONVEYOR BELT SCENE โ€” Purdyโ€™s Edition

INT. PURDYโ€™S CONVEYOR BELT ROOM

Lucy and Ethel are assigned to the Cherry Cordial Line โ€” endless glossy maraschino cherries are dipped in chocolate, placed on a belt, and whisked toward packaging.

A foreman explains the job, strict as a drill sergeant:

FOREMAN
These are premium Purdyโ€™s chocolates. If even one gets messed up, Iโ€™ll know. Understand?

Lucy and Ethel nod innocently.

FOREMAN
Good.
(turns)
Speed it up!

The belt lurches forward.

Cue Chaos.

  • Lucy tries dipping cherries but drops entire handfuls into the chocolate vat.
  • Ethel tries to help, slips, and accidentally turns the belt faster.
  • Chocolates begin piling up like a sugary avalanche.

Lucy panics.

LUCY
Ethel! Theyโ€™re coming at me like theyโ€™re mad at me!

She starts stuffing chocolates:
โ€” into her pockets
โ€” down her shirt
โ€” into her hat
โ€” in her mouth (several at once)

Ethel tries to box them but ends up boxing her own hands inside a package.

The foreman returns suddenly.
Lucy freezes, cheeks bulging with chocolates like a guilty chipmunk.

FOREMAN
Everything going smoothly?

Lucy tries to answer but only a muffled chocolate gargle comes out.

ACT 3: THE PURDYโ€™S FUDGE DISASTER

Lucy gets reassigned to the fudge-pouring machine.

Ethel whispers:

ETHEL
Just pull the lever gently.

Lucy yanks it like sheโ€™s starting a lawn mower.

A tidal wave of molten Purdyโ€™s fudge pours out.
Fred and Ricky walk in just in time to slip, slide, and fall into the mess like itโ€™s a chocolate skating rink.

RICKY
(in Spanish)
ยกLucy, tengo suficiente!

LUCY
(slipping and landing on him)
Rickyโ€ฆ I think I pulled the wrong lever.

FRED
No kidding, Lucy! Iโ€™m drowning in caramel like a human Sweet Georgia Brown!

ACT 4: THE CLEAN-UP & THE CONFESSION

INT. PURDYโ€™S BREAK ROOM โ€“ AFTERMATH

Lucy sits beside Ricky, both covered head to toe in chocolate.
Ethel and Fred stand sheepishly.

LUCY
Rickyโ€ฆ I just wanted to help. And maybeโ€ฆ get some free chocolates.

RICKY
Lucy, you donโ€™t need to sneak into my job to help.
(smiling)
You could just ask.

Lucy melts (emotionally, not literally).

LUCY
Really?

RICKY
Sure.
But next timeโ€”
(taps her nose)
โ€”not near heavy machinery.

Ethel laughs.

ETHEL
Come on, Lucy, letโ€™s get cleaned up before Fred starts licking the floor again.

FRED
Hey! I only did that once. And it was expensive chocolate.

TAG SCENE

INT. RICKY & LUCYโ€™S HOME โ€“ NIGHT

Lucy sneaks a Purdyโ€™s box from behind her back.

LUCY
Rickyโ€ฆ I brought dessert.

RICKY
Lucyโ€ฆ that better not be from the factory.

Lucy freezes.
Audience laughs.
Fade out.

END CREDITS IN CLASSIC I LOVE LUCY HEART-SHAPED FRAME
